Introduction to Main Task

For our main task, we are required to produce a magazine front cover, contents page and and a double page spread. Every aspect of this project must be original, and any pictures which are going to be used must be taken by us.

When producing this magazine, we are required to use cameras to add to the origanlity of the product, and also use programmes and software such as Photoshop and paint to enhance the quality of our images.

In order to ensure the success of the production of this magazine, we are required to do an extensive amount of research in relation to our chosen genre, (mine being hip hop and R&B). To understand the codes and conventions of a hip hop magazine, I will view similar real life media texts such as Vibe Magazine and The Source;and by gaining an understanding of the codes and conventions, I can then apply them to my own product.Audience reasearch is another method I'm going to use to find out what people expect from Hip Hop magazines as I can then apply their views to improve my magazine.
